For years, Hamas has made clear its true goal is the destruction of Israel, not improving the lives of Palestinians.
Beyond warnings like the one above, Hamas shows its intentions through action, like the 700 rockets and mortars fired at Israel over a 48-hour period this May—killing five Israelis, wounding dozens, and forcing over a million into bomb shelters.
Hamas goes to unthinkable lengths to cause death and destruction.
That’s why AIPAC works to educate lawmakers and ensure Israel has the means to defend its citizens.
Currently, AIPAC is working with Congress in support of The Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act of 2019.
This bipartisan legislation, which just passed in the House, would impose sanctions on persons or agencies of foreign nations that knowingly support the terrorist activities of Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
In addition to working to get this legislation passed in the Senate, AIPAC is also working with Congress in support of continued funding for Iron Dome, the rocket defense system which intercepted some 240 rockets before they could strike Israeli neighborhoods this May — saving countless lives.
