Dear friend, 

Wow, what a ride this has been! (Literally, too!)

 

It's been 4 years since I started campaigning around 40,000 square miles of Arizona, countless times, and loving every minute of it. 

 

I have been fighting for our issues of Women's Rights, Healthcare for all, world class Public Education funding, Gun Reform, Veterans mental and physical health, combating our climate crisis and ensuring Environmental justice, higher wages for a better quality of life, small business investment and community incentives to create more jobs, and so much more.

 

Running in 2018 and 2020 against Paul Gosar let me reach voters, especially in rural areas to broadcast our policies and progressive ideas, but it also gave them a voice, their chance to be able to speak their minds to someone they knew would listen and fight for them.  Then in January 2022, redistricting gave me the opportunity to run against David Schweikert. I live, work and shop in AZ01, it's my home. 

 

Just like Gosar, Schweikert was involved in the Jan 6th insurrection and is a criminal. We knew my life experiences along with listening to hundreds of thousands of voters across AZ, I should run in a district and bring my strength and fight to a seat we can win. Congressional District 1 is a 2% sway to Republicans; Gosar's new 9th Congressional district is over 29%. 

 

As you all know, once our decision to change districts from Gosar's to Schweikert's put time against us to gather enough signatures to have my name on the ballot. Not having enough "certified" registered Democratic voter signatures to hand in April, and knowing we would have our signatures challenged, we decided that I should be a write-in candidate. Time was not on our side.  

 

On Tuesday,  Arizona's Primary election, the people have spoken and Jevin Hodge won. We are in good hands. He has a great team and it's time we get behind him and ensure his win in November.  We can beat David Schweikert in this very competitive race and Jevin Hodge is the candidate that will make this happen! 

 

I want to say Adam Metzendorf was a great opponent in this primary as well. He worked hard and I saw him everywhere around our Democratic events. You will see more of him, at least I hope so.  

 

I want to thank all my supporters. Every one of you. Whether you supported this campaign with your hard-earned dollars or you helped us get out the word by knocking on doors, calling voters, and using your social media to amplify our message… I could not have gone this far without all of you. You helped me every step of the way. Thank you!  

 

But, most important, I can't forget to mention my Campaign Manager, Dakota, and my volunteers. I could not be who I am or where I am, if it was not for them. They were at my side since 2018. Never wavering and always, always giving me the strength I needed. They helped with everything ... and I mean everything, even caring for Archie and Simba on my campaign trails.  

 

So again, thank you all for everything. Let's all support Jevin Hodge in his race against David Schweikert, because this seat is winnable here in Arizona. I know we can win this race. We just need to let the voters know who is the best choice in November in AZ01 and that's Jevin.

 

Oh yeah ... this is not the end. I'm not done fighting for our issues. You'll see me around!
