I want to say thank you. Running for office is a team sport and I am so grateful to the team that has rallied around me. Many of you have generously given your time, talent, treasure, encouragement and counsel to this first-time candidate. The last year has been an incredible journey and I will never forget the kindness and support you have shown me along the way.
 
Unfortunately, tonight's results were not what we were hoping for. I am very proud of the positive campaign we ran and I am proud to have brought a fresh voice to our national conversation. I have congratulated Kelly Cooper and look forward to watching all of our great Republican candidates take back the House in November.
 
I got into this race because I believe that the American Dream is worth fighting for, that living in a country where you can blaze your own trail no matter where you start is uniquely, and beautifully, American. While this campaign is ending, my commitment to preserving these ideals remains.
