Just last month, Dr. Caraveo’s opponent, Barb Kirkmeyer, claimed that “to what extent any warming is a result of man-caused activity is unknown,” rejecting the science of global warming. She denies the reality of climate change and wants to dissolve the Environmental Protection Agency. She refuses to listen to science or commit to protecting Coloradans. This is one of the most extreme stances on climate of any 2022 House candidate, and MAGA Republicans are throwing their support behind her.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Caraveo sees the effects of climate change on the health of our children and families every day. In the state legislature, Dr. Caraveo has worked to create clean energy jobs, hold corporations accountable to keep our air and water clean, and address the disparate impacts of climate change on the working class and communities of color.
