Our enemy is out of the shadows, and they are not limiting their attack on
our values and our culture to the halls of government. We’ve seen the woke mob
attack institution by institution as they look for more ways to impose their
radical agenda on the American people.
The target today? Infiltrating the American companies and finding ways to make
them bow to their will.
The new movement, the so-called Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG),
is infiltrating boardrooms across the country. But don’t let its banal name
fool you — it’s a concerted effort to get companies to make decisions based on
how closely they align with liberal orthodoxy even when it’s not in the best
interest of consumers, employees, or shareholders.

The Left has conditioned its mob, everyone from anarchists who toss Molotov
cocktails at police to its army of woke Twitter zombies, to raise their
pitchforks at any company who dares to defy them.
And it’s working. Whether they are hostages or collaborators, companies and
CEOs are bowing to this pressure. They’re going woke.And the consequences are
dire.
As Governor, I’m making sure we fight back. This isn’t just about politics.
There are real lives being hurt by this.Teachers, first responders, and people
who have trusted the state of Florida with their pensions are seeing their
savings and their future eroded in the interest of a group ofLeft-wing
activists who couldn’t run a lemonade stand.
We made a great stride here at home, and I think it can be a model for how
other states start standing up for their citizens over the radical Left’s
agenda. Now, in Florida, we’ve prohibited state fund managers from investing
the state of Florida’s money based on political factors.
We want them to invest the state’s money in the best interest of the
beneficiaries of those funds, and we are going to require fund managers to only
consider maximizing the return on investment on behalf of Florida’s retirees.
That’s what the people of Florida deserve.

But we didn’t stop there. We also took aim at one of the Left’s favorite new
forms of censorship: preventing access to financial services. That’s right, the
new move is to make it painful for banks or payment processors like Visa or
PayPal to do business with groups they don’t like. They want to choke off the
ability of businesses they don’t agree with from being able to buy and sell
goods.
That’s not happening in Florida. I’m not letting Wall Street banks or credit
card companies discriminate against people for any religious, political, or
social beliefs. The reality is every time the economy is politicized, the end
result is more market share for monopolistic legacy operators and crushing
burdens on the small- and medium-sized business whose survival is critical to
our communities and to our entrepreneurial spirit as a nation. This is as much
an attack on the little guy and on the average consumer as it is an attack on
conservatism.
These reforms seem simple, right? Common sense. I think so, too. But it hasn’t
stopped the Left from attacking me. That’s why I had to write you today.
The Left has captured a lot of ground, and they’ve gotten many companies to
agree to their demands, and with that complicity comes a great deal of money.
The money being spent to stop what we’re doing in Florida and to keep
conservative victories like this from happening is immense. Every faceless
liberal alphabet group you can think of, along with George Soros and Hollywood
liberals, are spending money to defeat me while the legacy corporate media
fabricates lies and half-truths to try and paint our successes – successes that
look like common sense to average Americans – as the radical position.
I have no doubt that the Left will spend MILLIONS trying to stop me from being
re-elected. They want you and every other Republican and conservative in the
country to sit down and shut up. To stop standing up for conservative
principles. To stop advancing the cause of individual liberty. That’s why I
need your help. That’s why I need you to donate today. We need to be able to
fully fund the defense against the woke mob.
Florida has led the way on some of the most critical issues to conservatives
over the last few years.

Fighting the Fauci fanatics.

Keeping kids in schools and businesses open.

Funding our police and standing up for them when they needed it most.

Standing up for a secure border by fighting the wave of illegal immigrants
being dropped in our communities by a federal government that was asleep at the
wheel.
The list goes on. But the bottom line is that the left knows if they beat us
in Florida, the message will be sent that GOP Governors better not try to lead
for fear of a tsunami of liberal cash that will lie, cheat, and steal until
they can kick real conservatives out of office.
No matter the cost, I have no intention of backing down.
