Between the Funk Parade and the Dog Days Sidewalk Sale, there's so much to do along U Street this weekend! Hope to see you out in the community — it's going to be a great weekend to get out there. DCHR Summer Hiring Fair Registration

Sunday is the last day to register for the DCHR Summer Hiring Fair! The District is looking to fill almost 1000 vacancies in agencies across the government. Click here to register — qualified candidates will receive an interview and may be hired on the spot.

Firefighter and EMT Applications are Open

Want to join #DCsBravest? Know someone who does? August 1 marked the beginning of a new recruitment period for DC Fire and EMS — the first responders who keep our communities safe. Apply for an open position here. 

School-Based Vaccination is Available

It's not too late to get up to date on mandatory vaccinations before students go back to school! As part of No Shot No School, DCPS students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and other common diseases before the school year begins. Find a DC Health school-based health center at this link!

Midcity Dog Days of Summer Sidewalk Sale

It's the 23rd annual sidewalk sale! I'm looking forward to supporting local businesses and seeing neighbors in Logan Circle and along the U Street Corridor on Saturday. Join us for sidewalk sales, raffles and prizes, and more. It's 11am-4pm on both days. Organized by District Bridges, a community organization I've supported and extended to Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant. See this link for more information.

Funk Parade

Saturday is the Funk Parade, with four stages along the U Street Corridor! It's a celebration of the District's music and culture as well as the lasting legacy of Black Broadway. This free community event starts at 11am, with acts performing until late afternoon. See this link for lineups, set times, and locations.
