This week, in a major victory for the pro-Israel community, Congresswoman Haley Stevens defeated Andy Levin in the Michigan Democratic primary. Stevens is a pro-Israel champion who is a consistent supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Levin is spearheading a bill that would officially label the Western Wall as “occupied Palestinian territory” and he was backed by Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib and J Street.
The importance of keeping Congress pro-Israel, and standing with our friends, is ever-present today.
Earlier this week, Palestinian terrorists vowed a “major attack” against Israeli citizens. The IDF took action this morning and killed a senior Islamic Jihad leader in Gaza.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad has now launched more than 100 rockets at Israel over the past several hours. These rockets are being fired from Palestinian population centers toward Israeli population centers – proving yet again that these Iranian-backed terrorists are tragically willing to put innocent Palestinians in the line of fire for the opportunity to kill Israelis.
Instead of celebrating Shabbat around the dinner table, Israelis across southern and central Israel are now in bomb shelters. Already, Iron Dome has intercepted over 40 rockets that could have otherwise killed Israelis.
Each interception is a powerful reminder that our work to build and strengthen bipartisan support for Israel, and the U.S.-Israel relationship, saves lives.

Who is Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)?
PIJ is an Iranian-backed, U.S.-designated terrorist group in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip that is committed to the destruction of Israel and the creation of an Islamic State in its place. Since its creation following the Iranian Revolution, PIJ has orchestrated rocket attacks, suicide bombings, car bombings and shootings that have killed and wounded hundreds of Israelis. Currently, PIJ is estimated to possess up to 8,000 rockets and commands around 9,000 fighters.
