Governor Kelly Touts Prosperity on the Plains with Stop in Dodge City?

?Governor Laura Kelly continued her ?Prosperity on the Plains? statewide economic development tour in Dodge City today. She met with leaders from Nor-Am Cold Storage, a freezer and production company that opened a 148,000-square-foot Dodge City facility in October 2020. Governor Kelly and Nor-Am leaders discussed how the facility has evolved since opening, how the company partners with producers and processors like National Beef, and how the arrival of businesses like Hilmar Cheese is lifting the entire Ford County region economically.?

Local Food Purchase Agreement
"The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) has been awarded a $2.5 million cooperative agreement from the USDA?s Agricultural Marketing Service as part of the Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) Cooperative Agreement Program. These funds will be used to purchase and distribute Kansas-grown and -processed foods to underserved communities and families across Kansas through the state's existing distribution network of food banks."
