JOHN,

Our country is facing a gun violence crisis. So far in 2022, nearly 12,000 Americans have lost their lives due to an act of gun violence. We can and must do more to keep our communities safe.

Last week, the House passed a bill introduced by Congressman David Cicilline that would ban assault weapons. This is a step in the right direction to getting deadly weapons off the streets and protecting Americans from gun violence. But Seth knows there is more work to be done, and in Congress, he'll support common sense gun safety legislation to keep Rhode Islanders safe.

If you support common sense gun safety legislation like an assault weapons ban, add your name to stand with Seth:

As Rhode Island Treasurer, Seth divested the state’s pension fund from companies that manufacture assault weapons for non-military use. Seth has also been working to restrict sales and purchases of firearm kits, components, and accessories used to assemble undetectable "ghost guns."

In Congress, Seth will support common sense gun safety legislation – including background checks, red flag laws, and a federal assault weapons ban. In contrast, his Republican opponent, Allan Fung, doesn't support any kind of limitations on assault weapons and opposed Rhode Island's red flag law, which protects victims of domestic violence by giving law enforcement the ability to confiscate firearms from those who are an immediate danger to themselves or others. Fung received an A rating from the NRA which also donated to his campaign.

If you agree we need common sense gun safety legislation to protect our communities, add your name now.

Thank you,
