December 12, 2019: With less than two weeks to go until Christmas, many Americans are scrambling to find just the right holiday present for family and friends. In the process, they will spend $15.2 billion on unwanted gifts.[1]

A survey commissioned by Finder.com found that 43% of the unwanted gifts will be clothing and accessories, 20% will be household items, and 12% cosmetics and fragrances.[1]

When people receive unwanted gifts, 31% generally keep them, 31% give them to someone else, and 20% exchange them.[1]
