Happy Friday!
The weather is warming up here in the Lowcountry, as it does about every August. As the atmosphere gets warmer, we are prone to more intense natural disasters like hurricanes. In response, my colleagues and I created the Bipartisan Congressional Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Caucus which will prepare our communities for natural disasters and their effects. Watch some of our press conference here.
The past few weeks have been busy while in session up in Washington. I’m happy to be back in the Lowcountry with all of you! Did you know our office sends out press releases on certain topics, votes, and major events? Look here, where you can read all our statements.
We hosted “Coffee with your Congresswoman” this week at Second State Coffee in Mount Pleasant. Our office looks forward to these events, as we can spend more time with our constituents and learn more about what matters most to you. We will be hosting another “Coffee with your Congresswoman'' next week at Essentials Coffee in Moncks Corner at 11am. Look below for the address.

This week was the birthday of the United States Coast Guard. These brave men and women have protected our great nation’s waters for 232 years, and we owe them our thanks!
Are you living in the Lowcountry will an adorably cute dog? Every weekend, we highlight one District Dog on our social media platforms. Submit your dog here.
As always, if you need us, call us. Whether you need help with a passport, issues with receiving your tax refund or the Veterans Administration, please reach out to our office if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time.
It’s an immense honor to serve each and every one of you.
Sincerely,
