The Rev. Mark Holland, a United Methodist elder, won the Democratic Party nomination for a U.S. Senate seat from Kansas. He’ll face a Republican incumbent, Sen. Jerry Moran. Holland, 53, has led churches but also has been a mayor and county commissioner. He founded the group Mainstream UMC.
