Today we?re reporting a total of 888 additional positive COVID-19 cases and 1,176 additional recoveries for July 30-August 5. Today?s report includes 833 current cases and 55 older cases newly reported to the health district.???

Sadly, we report one additional death today:??

  • A male, age range 81-90, passed away July 20. He had pre-existing medical conditions and was fully vaccinated.????

To date,?737,712?tests have been administered in Galveston County.???

To date, a total of 22,656 probable cases have been reported for Galveston County. As stated previously, probable cases are reported separate from confirmed cases. A probable case means a person tested positive for antigens or antibodies and also met the probable case definition from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Probable cases are not included in the county's confirmed case count because an antibody test and antigen test are not lab confirmed PCR tests.??
