For most of us, the holidays are a time to give thanks and show others how much
we appreciate them. But the generosity of supporters like you fills me with
gratitude every day.

Thanks to you, in this moment farmed animals suffer so much less. And as we
build that compassionate food system we all dream of and know is possible, their
suffering may end altogether in our lifetimes.

Fueled by passionate, dedicated people, Mercy For Animals has deepened our
impact, quadrupled our team, and expanded to four new regions in just four
years.

As president of Mercy For Animals, I’ve watched our team grow more impactful and
rack up win after win this year.

Our drones brought worldwide attention to the devastation of the Amazon caused by clearing for cattle grazing. And our supporters marched in a
demonstration on the renowned Paulista Avenue in São Paulo wearing paper gas
masks, holding signs, and pushing a 10-foot-long barbecue grill to raise
awareness. Similar campaigns launched online in Mexico and the United States
ahead of the United Nations’ Climate Action Summit.

We won a hard-fought two-year campaign urging Walmart Brazil to ban eggs from
caged hens in its stores and partnered with Belo Horizonte, the country’s
sixth-largest city, to replace an estimated 16 million animal-based meals with plant-based meals each year .

Also in Brazil, our amazing volunteers organized over 800 public outreach actions !

In Mexico, our sixth and seventh investigations into government slaughterhouses —and our first drone investigations in the country—kept a spotlight on Mexico’s
suffering farmed animals.

We used the investigation footage to urge the federal government to make changes
that will reduce the abuse these animals endure. The country’s senate
unanimously approved a proposal that urges the agricultural ministry to revamp
Mexico’s animal transport regulations and update common farming practices to
align them with international animal welfare standards.

And in the United States, we drove the success of a ban on the sale of eggs from
caged hens in Michigan—a law that will allow at least 10 million birds to stretch their wings .

These are just some highlights of the recent impact that you made possible.

If we keep working together, I believe we will see an end to factory farming in
the next 20 years.

We will heal the planet and ourselves and finally bring all animals into the
same circle of compassion.

This is our collective challenge. Let’s meet it. Please consider making a
year-end gift to support our initiatives in 2020. Donate before the end of the year and your gift will be MATCHED .
