The great news is National Journal’s analysis indicates this race is moving in our direction. Their analysts said, “Recent polling has shown Beasley steadily creeping up on Budd, if not in the lead outright.”

But National Journal’s analysts noted that we could have a big problem: “Meanwhile, Republicans are investing heavily in North Carolina ... because their path to the majority is nearly impossible if they can’t hold this seat.”

Republican super PACs have limitless sums of corporate dark money and are willing to spend whatever it takes to defeat us. They are dead set on buying this seat for Ted Budd because, if we beat them, Democrats are almost guaranteed to hold the Senate majority.

This is one of the most competitive races anywhere in the country, and it could come down to a very small margin when the votes are counted. So it’s going to take A LOT of grassroots donations to ensure we have the resources to win.
