Dear friends,

Held since 2015 by the Houthis, four Yemeni journalists are currently going through hell in prison. Sentenced to death in April 2020, they are still waiting to learn their fate in totally inhuman conditions of detention. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemns cruel treatment and calls for their immediate release so they can receive medical treatment.

Convicted of spying for Saudi Arabia, Tawfik Al-Mansouri, Abdulkhaleq Amran, Akram Al-Walidi and Hareth Humaid, worked for media close to the Islah party, linked to the government recognised by the international community and opposed to the Houthis, at the time of their abduction. Victims of repeated mistreatment leading to serious complications, the four journalists are today in danger of death.

We call for these four journalists to be freed and for their convictions to be overturned. Even if the Houthis do not carry out their death sentences, everything is being done to kill them slowly by means of torture, psychological abuse and denial of medical care. We will hold the Houthis responsible for their fate.

This unbearable persecution must stop without further delay! Support RSF in its fight for the release of the four Yemeni journalists.
