Friends – I wanted to update you on where things stand in Washington after a busy week.

The CHIPS and Science Act is headed to the President’s desk to be signed into law — a historic achievement that I was proud to help get across the finish line. This landmark law will bolster American innovation and create good-paying jobs.

I was also thankful that the Senate finally passed the PACT Act earlier this week, a bill that will take care of our nation’s veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits.

While near-identical versions of this bill had previously passed both chambers with overwhelming bipartisan support, dozens of Senate Republicans went back on their word and blocked its passage for days – all because Democrats announced an unrelated bill to curb inflation, invest in green energy, and lower prescription drug costs.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) even gave a fist bump to his GOP colleagues on the Senate floor after blocking healthcare for our veterans.

I’m thrilled this bill passed, but let’s be frank: Republicans shouldn’t have to be publicly shamed for our veterans to receive the support they deserve.

We can’t let the GOP take control of Congress in this election. Will you chip in $25 to my campaign to keep CT-04 in Democratic control?
