While Peruvian law offers clear protections for all of the fired workers, CIRSA and Dreams have ignored these laws in a brazen attempt to deny workers their fundamental right to unionize. Now this is a fight not just for the future of casino workers, but a fight for the rights of all Peruvian workers, against the impunity of multinational companies that act as if they are above the law. The fired workers are committed to contend with these companies, but they also face the hardship of losing their jobs at a moment’s notice. We are calling on you to join the struggle by providing economic assistance to these workers and their families. The support will allow workers to organize while still being able to put food on the table, and help them continue the important push to secure a real right to unionize in Perú. Please consider clicking here to make a donation today and help us raise $10,000 by August 26th. 100% of donations made to GLJ-ILRF through this campaign will go towards supporting the fired workers in Perú and their families. We look forward to updating you about this work in the coming weeks, and we thank you for your continued support. In solidarity, Jennifer (JJ) Rosenbaum Executive Director, GLJ-ILRF |
