This Week at CMD

It's been a busy week at the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD)!

On Sunday, we released a new report documenting how a constitutional convention would give hand-picked GOP delegates supermajority control over any proposed amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Right-wing groups like the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and Convention of States have been ramping up their campaigns in recent years to force the first constitutional convention since 1787 as a way to sidestep Congress and radically rewrite the Constitution.

Insider published multiple articles based on our report, further alerting the nation to the crisis we'll face if the movement continues to gain steam.

The most recent scoops from CMD cover South Carolina attorney general's pay-to-play relationship with corporations, an anti-woke entrepreneur who's trying to profit from the Right's anti-woke hysteria, extremism in the ALEC ranks, and the Wisconsin megadonors spending big in the state's Senate race.

Here's the latest!

Republicans' next big play is to 'scare the hell out of Washington' by rewriting the Constitution. And they're willing to play the long game to win.

From Insider: The conservative movement isn't done reshaping the Constitution from the ground up. Conservatives are now pushing an unprecedented convention to re-write the US bedrock text since 1788.
