Rep. John Moolenaar - Michigan's 2nd Congressional District

GOPAC Election Fund endorsed Rep. John Moolenaar has secured the Republican nomination in Michigan's 2nd Congressional District. Congressman Moolenaar brings years of leadership experience in the private and public sectors to Congress. He has worked as a chemist and business development director, and as a school administrator. As a public servant, Moolenaar has been elected to the Midland City Council, the Michigan House of Representatives, and the Michigan Senate.

 

Senator Tom Barrett - Michigan's 7th Congressional District

Senator Tom Barrett, who is endorsed by the GOPAC Election Fund, has secured the Republican nomination in Michigan's 7th Congressional District. Tom is a 22-year Army veteran, who served throughout the world in Guantanamo Bay, the DMZ, Kuwait, and in combat in Iraq. He has served in the Michigan State Legislature since 2015, serving in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019 and currently serves in the Michigan State Senate, representing District 24.

 

15th Annual State Leaders Summit

This week, GOPAC hosted the 15th Annual State Leaders Summit on August 3-4 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Summit attracts Senate presidents, speakers of the House, chamber officers, and committee chairs from across the country to share policy ideas and trade best practices in implementing principles to create jobs and make government more effective and efficient. The Center for American Ideas participates in the Summit with policy seminars which spark thoughts to advance economic and personal security.

One hundred days out from midterm Election Day, the Republican National Committee has made 40 million voters contacts and has nearly $40 million cash-on-hand, with party officials saying GOP enthusiasm is "higher than ever," and committing to winning majorities in Congress in November.

Numbers to Know

Seventy-three percent (73%) of Americans rate the quality of their health care as excellent or good, including 27% who say it is excellent. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 19% rate it as fair and 6% as poor.

The survey also found that 84% are satisfied with their health insurance coverage, including more than 77% of the lowest-income Americans.
