In Parliament, the PAP government shared a comprehensive plan to mitigate and adapt to the impact of climate change for our homes.

Over the past few decades, the PAP Government has built Singapore into a comfortable and beautiful home. But we now face new challenges in this mission, such as a warming climate.

By 2045, temperatures in Singapore could hit 40 deg C on some days due to global warming, compounded by the urban environment releasing trapped heat from buildings, and heat generated by vehicles and industries.

In Parliament this week, in response to our MPs' questions ([link removed]) , the government shared a comprehensive plan to mitigate and adapt to the impact of climate change for our homes.

Like other Singaporeans, our seniors face rising costs of living. Our MPs asked the government for more help under the Silver Support Scheme and to increase the CPF interest rate. They also reflected concerns on rising prices of taxi and private hire car rides. Find out more ([link removed]) .

Two recent cases of children dying from COVID-19 have raised concerns among parents. Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim ([link removed]) asked how we can better diagnose and treat children infected with COVID while Seah Kian Peng ([link removed]) asked about the infection rate. Read more ([link removed]) .

Two bills which will establish a fourth arm of the SAF to counter threats in the digital domain were passed. During the debate, our MPs spoke about how the SAF must strengthen its capabilities to defend Singapore against such threats ([link removed]) .

“Let there be no doubt that for every young male citizen, whether by birth, registration or descent, the National Service liabilities are the same. We do not differentiate.”

In his ministerial statement, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen ([link removed]) stressed that every young male citizen must do National Service (NS), in response to recent assertions that Singapore citizens by registration are not doing national service. Read more ([link removed]) .

We believe that everyone should get fair representation in court regardless of their financial background. Parliament passed a bill to provide criminal legal aid to the needy, paving the way for a Public Defender's Office to be set up by the year end. Find out more ([link removed]) .
