We just don’t get it.
❌Map manipulators in states like Alabama and Louisiana have passed congressional maps that expressly limit the voting power of people of color.
❌Far-right justices on the Supreme Court have allowed these maps to stand.
❌Far-right senators all voted against a measure in the Freedom to Vote Act legislation that would ban partisan gerrymandering in federal elections.
❌All across the country, far right extremists are pushing unfair, gerrymandered, and alienating maps.
Why are they not interested in maintaining American democracy?
Why are they so concerned with restricting the right to vote?
Why do they continue to make partisan gerrymandered maps?
The answer is because many on the far right -- plain and simple -- are hell-bent on retaining power.Fair map advocates are the exact opposite. What we want is simple: a fair map-making process, maps that enfranchise people of color, and an end to manipulated maps that silence the voices of voters. Is that too much to ask for?
