Good morning to everyone on a wet and windy polling day.

This is my final message of this campaign and it's a really simple one - thank you for the patience, interest and concerns that you have shown over the last few weeks.

I know that winter elections can interfere with family life and give rise to debate and division. As a result I have tried to keep my comments upbeat and positive.

It may be tempting, but I am not going to tell you how to vote. You are as aware of the risks and opportunities as I am.
