I hope you know that the main reason I’m running for the U.S. Senate seat in Ohio is because I care deeply about my state, my country, and the issues that we’re facing right now.  I grew up in Middletown, Ohio. Middletown was once a booming manufacturing town where Ohioans could live a middle-class life. As I got older, I realized that the jobs and economic opportunities that were once present in my hometown were fading away and it left the community around me grasping for hope. Look, I won’t sugarcoat it, my home life wasn’t all peaches and cream. I had my fair share of turbulence at home as a kid, with my dad leaving home when I was young, and my mother struggling with drug addiction her entire life. I’m so lucky that I had someone who helped me turn everything around and keep me straight. That person was my Mamaw (my grandmother). My grandmother taught me tough love, discipline, and that the world wasn’t just going to hand you what you wanted. She kept me straight and focused through her dedication to faith, family, and the hope of a better life that lay ahead (or it could’ve been the 19 handguns she owned.)  You wouldn’t believe it from the photo above, but I went on to serve my nation in the Iraq War as a proud Marine, graduated from The Ohio State University, received my law degree from Yale Law School, and wrote a bestselling book. That wasn’t enough. I wanted to do more. I wanted to do more for my state and my country. That’s why when I moved back to Ohio and saw the state I love devastated by job loss, addiction, economic turmoil, and much more, I started a business in Cincinnati focused on growing companies that create well-paying jobs. I’m not done yet though, I’m running for the U.S. Senate because Ohio and America need a true conservative who’s focused on standing up to Communist China, securing our Southern Border, and looking out for the people who’ve been left behind. Because I know what that feels like.
