When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade , they scrapped decades of legal precedent protecting a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions.

Following this decision, NewDems have taken immediate action in Congress to ensure that women can continue accessing the reproductive care that they need.

First, we passed the Women’s Health Protection Act earlier this summer – federal legislation to protect the right to access abortion care throughout the United States.

Then, the House passed NewDem Rep. Lizzie Fletcher’s bill, H.R. 8297 the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act. This bill protects every American’s right to travel for abortion services and reproductive health care.
