Big Pharma is used to getting their way. But in a win for Americans who
are tired of paying too much for their prescriptions, a new proposal would
allow Medicare to negotiate the price of prescriptions and punish drug
companies that raise prices faster than inflation. This would drastically
decrease the cost of prescription drugs.
Big Pharma has spent millions of dollars over the past two years to oppose
this very legislation. And now as the Senate works to finalize this bill,
they're doing all they can to lobby against it—the drug industry has
already spent $187 million on lobbying this year.
