Indivisibles,
We’ve talked to local groups, we’ve vetted candidates, and we’ve counted
the votes. Now, we’re excited to announce our latest round of national
endorsements for the 2022 midterm election! All the candidates were
hand-picked by local groups and received a supermajority of support from
Indivisibles in their district or state. We’re so grateful to the local
groups who nominated these candidates -- this process wouldn’t have been
possible without their help every step of the way.
Before we announce the endorsements, we want to take a moment to
congratulate IndivisiCandidates Rep. Cori Bush (MO-1), Trish Gunby (MO-2),
and Randi McCallian (MO-8) for winning their primaries on Tuesday! We’re
proud to have endorsed these amazing candidates and we’re going to do
everything we can to make sure they win in November.
Now, without further ado, our latest slate of nationally endorsed
candidates are:
[1]GIF of Katie Porter, Sara Jacobs, Josh Riley, Ashley Ehasz, John
Fetterman, Tom Malinowski, and Herb Jones
We are excited to announce that Indivisibles have voted to endorse Rep.
Katie Porter (CA-47), Rep. Sara Jacobs (CA-51), Josh Riley (NY-19), Ashley
Ehasz (PA-01), John Fetterman (PA-Sen), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), and
Herb Jones (VA-01)!
* Rep. Katie Porter and her whiteboard of truth have brought a new and
powerful voice to Congress, one that strongly represents Indivisible’s
commitment to ethics and transparency in government. As a single
working mother of three, she has a deep understanding of the
challenges that working families face, decades of experience in
financial oversight and consumer advocacy, and an unrivaled ability to
explain complex financial issues in a clear and relatable way. By
making sure Katie returns to Washington in 2022, we can continue our
fight for the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, higher wages for
workers, and ethics reform.
* Rep. Sara Jacobs has made the families, kids, and workers of San Diego
a priority, securing millions of dollars in assistance to provide
equity and access to the internet for school districts and libraries.
Sara has also been a leader in the House in the response to the
disastrous Dobbs decision. She introduced the My Body, My Data Act to
protect private reproductive healthcare information, and co-led the
Right to Contraception Act. We’re proud to endorse her and know she’ll
continue to be a force for progressive change in Congress.
* Josh Riley is a 5th generation Upstate New Yorker with proven
experience in taking on tough fights. From challenging the Trump
Administration in the Supreme Court, passing legislation as a lawyer
in the Senate, and representing kids from low-income families in civil
rights litigation, Josh has always boldly acted in the interest of the
people. He is running for Congress to deliver results for Upstate New
York and revitalize the working class communities that have been
devastated by the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs. Josh has the
experience, smarts, understanding, and drive to deliver big wins for
working families. We’re proud to endorse him and can’t wait to see
fight for an inclusive economy.
* The oldest of three to a single mother, Ashley Ehasz watched her
family struggle with health, substance abuse, and affording their
rent. At 17, she joined the Army knowing it was her best shot at
affording a college education and finding stability. Ashley graduated
from West Point, trained to be an Apache helicopter pilot, and later
served as a pilot-in-command in Iraq. She returned, attended graduate
school, and started working for her local government. Ashley made all
the right choices, but has still found herself doing all she can to
keep stable while juggling her student loan debt, health care costs,
and mortgage. She understands the everyday challenges families in her
district are facing, and that they deserve to be represented by
someone who will roll up their sleeves and do something about it.
Ashley will be an outspoken advocate for those struggling most and
we’re proud to endorse her.
* John Fetterman doesn’t look or act like a typical politician, which is
why he is exactly the right person we need in the U.S. Senate. Whether
teaching GED classes as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Pittsburgh,
officiating one of the first same-sex marriages in the commonwealth as
Mayor of Braddock, or overhauling Pennsylvania’s clemency process as
Lieutenant Governor, John has been fearlessly dedicated to showing up
for his state. For the last two decades, John has remained clear in
his beliefs that healthcare is a fundamental human right, climate
change is an existential threat, corporate money has no place in
politics, and the right to abortion and contraception are
non-negotiable. Having John in the Senate will bring us that much
closer to eliminating the filibuster and winning structural changes
that will support working families.
* Rep. Tom Malinowski knows there are big problems to tackle in this
country, and he’s ready to spend another term working to fix them as
the representative for New Jersey’s 7th district. He’s already made
great progress for New Jersey, spending the last four years in
Congress working hard for the people of his district. Because of Tom’s
hard work, the Gateway Tunnel and Protal Bridge projects have broken
ground, more microchip manufacturing jobs are on the way, healthcare
access during a pandemic was bolstered, and more. It’s Tom’s
uncompromising dedication to people-first solutions that has made such
a thoughtful and effective policymaker, and we’re proud to endorse
him.
* Last, but not least, we’re proud to endorse Herb Jones for Virginia’s
1st district. Herb knew he needed to run for Congress the day his
representative and Republican opponent voted against certifying the
2020 presidential election results. As a retired Army colonel, Herb
has spent his life putting service to community and country above all
else. In Congress, he will fight to establish universal Pre-K, secure
universal access to high-quality healthcare, codify abortion rights
for all, and expand broadband to rural communities. Herb is the best
choice for VA-01, and we’re proud to endorse him.
We can’t say enough good things about this exceptional group of
candidates, and we’re going to put all of our support behind them to make
sure they win in November. Indivisibles have already sent over a million
texts and knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors, mobilizing voters to
support IndivisiCandidates. We’re going to bring that same level of energy
for this latest round of endorsed candidates -- but we need your help.
We rely on grassroots funding to run all of our electoral programs from

PS - Did you see our latest electoral poll on Maddow last night? [ [link removed] ]Watch
and share the full segment here -- if we learned anything from the
incredible results this week in Kansas from state activists defeating the
MAGA GOP’s attempt to roll back abortion rights, it’s that when abortion
is on the ballot, we can win. Let’s take this victory and use it to
galvanize voters across the country to support our proudly pro-choice
candidates, defend our freedoms and stop the extremism.
