John, I couldn't let another day go by without mentioning the latest outrage from the GOP's obstruction in Congress.
Not only did Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans try to block a bill that would grow US manufacturing, create jobs, and lower prices — their counterparts in the Senate blocked a bill to give health care to military veterans exposed to toxic burn pits during their time in Iraq and Afghanistan.
You heard that right. Republicans blocked legislation to help veterans exposed to toxic burn pits. And it is absolutely maddening.
Republicans tell you that “big government” is your enemy, and then do everything in their power to make it so. They rig the courts and hide behind the filibuster while enforcing their extremist beliefs to control women’s bodies, endanger our children, and so much more.
They tell you they’re the “pro-military,” “pro-family” party, and then oppose legislation that would support veterans, make the expanded Child Tax Credit permanent, and attack LGBT youth. The list goes on, and on, and on.
They're against everything. For nothing. And that's why we can't let Republicans take power in either the House or Senate.
