Last week, Pete traveled through the Carolinas and Alabama to talk to and learn from Southern voters about the issues that affect their everyday lives and most importantly, how we find solutions that work for everyone.

This kind of outreach is central to the type of campaign we want to run -- a campaign that gives everyone a seat at the table, engages and unites people of all backgrounds all across the country, and a campaign that offers solutions big enough to solve America’s most pressing problems.

On his trip, Pete visited Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina, where he participated in a conversation about poverty and the role it should play in this election. He discussed health equity and how to elevate small businesses at Fair Deal Grocery in Charleston. And he even took a break for a little bowling and bingo.

We’ve said for a long time that when people get to know Pete, when they hear his message, they support him and want to vote or caucus for him.

The momentum behind this campaign -- in Iowa, in New Hampshire, in South Carolina, and all over -- is constantly building.

But the kind of outreach that has made this momentum possible -- staffing organizers on the ground, running TV and digital ads, executing trips like this one -- requires a lot of resources. And we need even more resources to keep our momentum alive through the early state primaries and beyond.
