John,
On Monday, we learned that the annual Music Midtown festival, a major economic engine for the City of Atlanta, will be canceled. The reason?
Organizers of the festival had serious concerns about their ability to keep artists and tens of thousands of concertgoers safe in the wake of Georgia laws that weaken gun safety regulations.
Make no mistake: the cancellation of Music Midtown is a huge loss for Georgia's music industry and its economy. It illustrates that extremist laws (like the permitless carry law passed earlier this year) are not only dangerous but bad for business.
GOP leaders in this state — including my opponent, Chris Carr — have proven that they won’t put public safety ahead of the gun lobby. Now, this apparently extends to the pocketbooks of ordinary Georgians.
We need an Attorney General who will fight for common-sense gun safety. Unlike Chris Carr, I vigorously opposed the permitless carry bill. Unlike Chris Carr, I don't take large contributions from the gun lobby. If you're ready for an Attorney General who will fight for the safety of Georgia families — and not deep-pocketed campaign donors — please donate $10 (or any amount) to my campaign today.

Thank you,
