Congress should be for the people, not the lobbyists and the corporations they represent. But corporations and the super-wealthy few funnel billions of dollars to have politicians enact laws that make them richer at our expense.

We must overturn Citizen United and ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks while bringing more transparency to a process that has been exploited by members of Congress for too long to benefit themselves first and us last.

New Yorkers deserve a representative who fights for them, not for the billionaires and corporations bankrolling their campaigns.

But this will never happen with some of the current Democrats in office. We need to elect better Democrats right now – starting with Melanie.
