John –

Last night’s event in George Floyd Square was exactly the kind of conversation we need to continue having. Sitting in the room with law enforcement, community leaders and candidates for County Attorney and Sheriff was a great opportunity to discuss how we can work together to address rising crime and a legacy of racial injustice.

Pam, a community member in the audience, asked how we would work with the community, city leaders and law enforcement to close the gaps in communication. It’s simple: we need engaged people like Pam and all of the other residents in the room to show up, talk about their experience, and hold us accountable for collaborating across the county and city to make those changes happen.

Public safety issues touch all of us. I live just outside of North Minneapolis. And I am happy to travel a mile to listen and support the community any time I am called.

Strong partnerships between law enforcement, community, and prosecutors are the way to reign in violent crime, get guns off our streets and turn around the lives of troubled youths. The solution is bigger than what any of us can do individually. We have to collaborate because we are safer together.

Add your name to let me know you’re ready to join the community commitment to seeing the results we need. [link removed]

Sincerely,
Ryan
