Friend,

It's quick and easy to use social media to share our values with
friends and family. But there's a better way to reach people
outside your circle - even elected officials - with your
opinions on LGBTQ issues, especially during this midterm election
year.

Writing a letter to your editor lets a much wider audience know where
you stand about the increase in attacks on LGBTQ people. It can also
be a powerful opportunity to share how discriminatory rhetoric,
legislation, and even school policies directly affect you, your
family, and your entire community, right now.

We know it can be overwhelming to get started, so we made this easy
template for you. Here's how it works:

1.

Enter your zip code then click continue.

2.

Choose which outlet you'd like to contact and enter your
contact information. Scroll down to begin writing your letter.

3.

Choose a topic that matters to you and feels pressing,
especially considering this year's fast-approaching
midterm elections. Examples include everything from protecting
LGBTQ youth, transgender rights, abortion access, and marriage
equality, to speaking out about book bans and censorship in
schools.

4.

Use our framework to ensure all the elements of a strong,
cohesive letter, and...

5.

Submit! Our form will automatically find and send to your
chosen outlet, so they know where you stand.

If you've been looking for new ways to advocate for the LGBTQ
community, use this powerful avenue to reach people, move hearts and
change minds. Thank you for doing your part to accelerate acceptance
for LGBTQ people.

P.S. We would love to know if your letter gets published! Feel free to
tag us with a link to your letter on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter,
along with the hashtag #votewithpride, so we can celebrate!
