*Governor Parson Highlights?Successes?of Trade Mission to Germany and the Netherlands??*

*(JEFFERSON CITY, MO)* ??On Saturday, July 30, Governor Mike Parson returned from his latest international Trade Mission, which included visits with key officials, businesses, and organizations in Germany and the Netherlands. During the Trade Mission, Governor Parson participated in meetings to build international relationships while promoting Missouri as an ideal business location and trade partner.

?Our latest trade mission was another successful opportunity to showcase Missouri?s strengths,? said *Governor Parson*. ?Missouri already enjoys valued business relationships with leading companies in Germany and the Netherlands that have locations and employees in our state. This fourth trade mission was productive in strengthening existing ties while promoting new and additional investment.?

*Trade Mission Highlights - Germany and the Netherlands*

*BASF*

Governor Parson visited the extensive headquarters campus of BASF in Ludwigshafen, in addition to meeting with Tobias Dratt, President of BASF North America. BASF is one of the world?s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers. The discussion focused on the company?s multiple sites across Missouri and opportunities for future growth.

*Bayer*

Governor Parson met with Werner Baumann, CEO of Bayer, following up on a previous visit in 2019. The two discussed Bayer?s decision to relocate jobs to its Creve Coeur campus and the progress made. Bayer Crop Science is headquartered in the St. Louis area, where the company conducts research and development on agricultural solutions.

*Lufthansa*

Governor Parson met with Harry Hohmeister, a member of Lufthansa?s executive board and Chief Commercial Officer of Passenger Airlines, to discuss the new nonstop flight between St. Louis and Frankfurt. The new route has opened ease of access between Missouri and Europe, providing yet another reason businesses and travelers should consider Missouri for investment.

*Aegon*

Governor Parson met with Matt Rider, CFO for Aegon, an international financial services group doing business in the United States as Transamerica. Transamerica has offices in both St. Louis and Kansas City and provides life insurance, investment, and retirement solutions.

*Corbion*

Governor Parson met with Ruud Peerbooms, President of Algae Ingredients and member of Corbion?s executive committee, to discuss manufacturing operations in Grandview. Corbion is a global leader in sustainable food solutions, lactic acids, and specialties.

Several meetings regarding?prospective investments?were held in both countries, in which Governor Parson promoted Missouri?s economic strengths for future business opportunities.

The Trade Mission was funded by the Hawthorn Foundation, a Missouri nonprofit organization.
