Tech bill includes NO AMNESTIES and
NO IMMIGRATION INCREASES!

Without your opposition, "CHIPS Act" would have been the "America SURRENDERS Act"

Earlier this year, the Democrat-led House of Representatives passed the America COMPETES Act, a bill to invest in technology and innovation which would have ALSO allowed a limitless number of tech workers from places like China.

Many Republican Senators were eager to pass a tech-investment bill... but NumbersUSA members like you helped point out that the House bill's worker importation measures were so bad for American jobs and independence that it should be called the "America SURRENDERS Act."

So, instead Congress passed "the CHIPS and Science Act," which was much more similar to a more limited bill passed by the Senate last year with strong bipartisan support. In the final bill that passed Congress, all the immigration provisions were OUT! We didn't take any position on this final bill, but we are so grateful to our members' support for helping prevent disaster.

Unfortunately, even as we celebrate the defeat of an increase in legal immigration, illegal aliens continue to pour over the border in record numbers. NumbersUSA has always tried to build up the personnel and resources to be able to fight a two-front war, tackling the problem of both legal and illegal immigration at the same time. And we certainly have had to fight on both fronts this year.

In some ways, increases in legal immigration like what we just defeated are the most serious because neither Congress nor the President can reverse the damages that come from that; once given a green card, foreign workers are essentially guaranteed lifetime access to U.S. jobs.

On the other hand, the lawlessness created by the Biden Administration on our borders although a nightmare!! -- not only can be stopped, but illegal aliens whove entered the last year and a half can be pushed out. Unless Congress passes an amnesty, we can still reverse this unfolding disaster through more enforcement in the near future.

In fact, that's what I'm asking you to do.

We've got to clean up this mess. We've got to empower the people who are willing to enforce the law to do so, and we've got to close the loopholes which are abused by the Administration and illegal aliens alike. And we've got to prevent any last-minute amnesties or worker-importation language from being worked into whatever bills Congress passes when it returns from its summer recess. We need your help.

We've been working mostly behind the scenes to prevent disaster, which means our fundraising has gone very slow. We've been spending more money than we've been taking in... and this cannot continue! Plus, we are going to have to bring back our old-fashioned activism stronger than ever before!

Right now, in Congress, there is a huge push among our allies to FIX ALL THE WEAKNESSES in our immigration laws. Since it does look likely that this fall's election will bring some of our allies into much more influence, next year we are determined . . .

. . . to make the Remain-in-Mexico policy, which Pres. Biden keeps trying to rescind, mandatory so no future president can revoke it. . .

. . . to end the abuse of the parole program which Pres. Biden has turned into a permanent, rolling amnesty, handing out work permits to limitless illegal aliens without Congressional authorization. . .

. . . to ensure businesses use E-Verify so they know their workforce is legal and can no longer hire illegal aliens and to take away the jobs that enable illegal aliens to stay in this country. . .

. . . to fully fund immigration enforcement, in contrast to the current strategy of "abolishing ICE" by starving it of the resources to function. . .

. . . to keep illegal aliens out of taxpayer-funded benefit programs like Medicare, Medicaid, "Obamacare," and Social Security. . .

. . . to add significant penalties to prevent "visa overstays," by which aliens "visit" America and simply never leave. . .

. . . and to allow children to be detained with their parents, so there's no excuse for "catch and release."

All of those will reduce the number of illegal aliens settling in the country and increase the number of illegal aliens deciding to return to their home countries. NumbersUSA is working to bring about effective enforcement with no loopholes. And we have to make sure these reforms get top priority in the next Congress. We need to hold this lawless Administration accountable!
