Dear Friend,
Widespread deception and unfair practices by student loan servicers have caused excessive debt for Colorado students—harming their ability to use their education to support themselves and their families. For Judith, the significant debt caused by the deceptive acts of her loan servicing firm, Navient, materially harmed her and her family, as she explains in this video.

Just recently, we delivered very substantial debt relief to over 1,000 student borrowers like Judith, and partial relief to almost 7,000 more, from $35 million we secured from Navient. We also required that Navient stop its widespread deceptive practices and notify borrowers of the federal program that promises loan forgiveness for those who work in public service jobs for 10 years. Moreover, we actively seek out ways to protect student borrowers through our office’s student loan ombudsperson.
Please help us spread the word about how we have protected student borrowers from deceptive practices and consider donating so we can get the message out about this important work.

Thank you,
Phil
