Yesterday, the Associated Press confirmed who my opponent will be this November following Michigan's primary election.
The Republican challenging me was a vocal advocate for some of the most divisive and hateful rhetoric spread by the former administration. Overall, many candidates who were endorsed by former president Trump won yesterday, which proves that he will be a big player in the November election even though his name isn’t on the ballot.
I know that the attacks I’ve faced in the past are just going to keep coming, but I won’t back down when it comes to working and delivering for Michigan families.
This election is going to be different. I’m running in a newly drawn district and even though a majority of MI-06 includes my current constituents, I am still going to work hard to make sure I can introduce myself to as many voters as possible.
Come November, I want voters to know that I am in Congress to deliver for them. My team is telling me that we will have to break through a lot of noise, especially the attacks thrown at me by the GOP. But frankly, I’m not worried because I know I have you in my corner.
