Hi  John,

Watching the news can be daunting lately. Rising mass shootings and issues with gun violence have shaken our country and our state. 

New Yorkers want to feel secure, but local crimes leave many feeling helpless and uncertain about the safety of their neighborhoods - and some communities face larger threats to their public safety than others. 

Our community needs a public safety plan that looks out for everyone that lives here. Without truly addressing the issues that lead to crime and violence, we will never feel completely safe. 

We must devote resources to a new approach to public safety.  As Senator, I will work to engage residents who have been disconnected from services, supports, and opportunities and who are most at risk of becoming a victim or perpetrator of gun violence. 

I have 19 days until the August 23rd Primary Election. There is not much time left to reach everyone in our community and help them create a plan to vote for a candidate who will make public safety a priority. I need your support to make that happen.
