AFSCME Family,
I'm Evelyn Mikul and I administer benefits to low-income families in Dane County.
When the Dane County Executive decided that some county workers deserved a bigger raise than others, my co-workers and I raised the bar.
During this pandemic, every county worker made sacrifices. And on the job, we all deserve to be treated fairly. So together, we used our worker power to organize — and win — pay equity. Watch this video to see how we did it.
We educated our co-workers, lobbied our county board and advocated for what we deserved. When all was said and done, we won a historic pay raise, a raise based in equity for all workers regardless of our job titles.
AFSCME family, the only way we can accomplish big things in our workplace is by standing together.
Our unity makes a difference. As Dane County workers, we see the difference in our paychecks. We also feel the difference in our quality of life. More workers are joining our union than ever before. They are joining us because they know the difference we make when we stand together.
Our victory was possible because we used our union power. No matter what issue you and your co-workers decide to challenge or change, big things happen when you get involved. So…what are you waiting for? Watch this video to get inspired.
In solidarity,
Evelyn J. Mikul
