Frontline Worker Pay application closes; appeals period expected Aug. 16-31

At the close of the Frontline Worker Pay application at 5 p.m. (CT), July 22, 2022, nearly 1.2 million active submissions had been received?for consideration of payment during an extremely successful 45-day application period -- and just 12 weeks?since the day the program was signed into law.
Applications will now be processed and verified before a 15-day appeal period begins for those whose application has been denied.
The appeal period is anticipated to be Tuesday, Aug. 16, through Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m. (CT).

DLI commissioner to retire
Commissioner Roslyn Robertson, who has served for more than 34 years at DLI, will retire Aug. 12, 2022.
Governor Tim Walz thanked Commissioner Robertson for her decades of service to Minnesota.
"Commissioner Robertson's years of work to improve workplace safety have made Minnesotans safer on the job," said Gov. Walz. "From her work to educate employees about their rights, to heading up the Frontline Worker Pay program, I am incredibly grateful for her decades of service and dedication to our state."

MNOSHA fatality, serious-injury investigation summaries online
Each month, Minnesota OSHA (MNOSHA) Compliance publishes current, updated summaries of its fatality investigations and serious-injury investigations.
For the federal-fiscal-year that began Oct. 1, 2021, MNOSHA has investigated 45?fatalities through July 27.
The information provided about each investigation is:? the inspection number, date of incident and worksite city; the type of business and number of employees; a description of the event; and the outcome of the MNOSHA Compliance investigation.
