Demand for logistics warehouse space is accelerating as retailers juggle an unexpected surplus of certain products and a need to maintain higher inventory in the future to prevent shortages. An additional 800 million square feet of space will be needed by the market beyond earlier projections, of which tenants are already leasing some 300 million square feet, according to a Prologis analysis.
