Hello,
If the Trump administration slashes nutritional assistance for 3.7 million people, here's who will be harmed:
"I’ve basically been starving the past three days so my kids could have something to eat. A lot of times I eat a honey bun and some [chips] before bed and that’s it. I’m starving now so they can have something later."
"The Ripple Effects of Taking SNAP Benefits From One Person," The Atlantic, 12/10/19
If current benefits are slashed even further, the choices for many parents will only grow more dire.
Will you join Bob Casey in taking immediate action? Add your name now, and tell President Trump and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue: "Don't take food from children and families."
If we don't stop them, the Trump administration's cuts to SNAP benefits will harm people in your community:
-
parents;
-
seniors;
-
children;
-
workers;
-
farmers;
-
and many more of your friends and neighbors.
Congress previously rejected proposed rules that would slash SNAP benefits -- but that hasn't stopped the Trump administration from trying again. Now it's up to all of us to stop them.
Please join us in taking action now. Tell President Trump and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue: "Don't take food from children and families."
Thank you,
Team Casey
