Dear John
The next Government is still going to threaten our democracy
At Best for Britain, we were concerned by the Johnson Government’s increasing authoritarianism - and we’re now concerned that his successor won’t be any better.
With a series of Bills still expected to be pushed through Parliament which will weaken the power of civil society and enable the Government to act without scrutiny, we’re hugely worried about what the political future holds.
As part of our campaigning against authoritarian politics, we’ll be calling out some of the most egregious legislation in the works. This includes Bills such as the Bill of Rights.

The Bill of Rights is part of a swathe of legislation which concentrates power in the hands of the Government and reduces the ability of civil society to hold the Government to account. Just as the new Northern Ireland Protocol Bill confers extraordinary powers on Ministers by allowing them to unilaterally rip up international law, this Bill of Rights proposes the full repeal of a human rights framework designed to protect you.
It’s scary stuff. So will you fight to protect the rights you have and sign our petition against the Bill of Rights and the Government’s broader authoritarian agenda?

It takes just two minutes to sign and you’ll be standing up for a cause that shapes our whole society and the freedoms we all are privileged to enjoy.
Stand with us today,
Best wishes,
Naomi Smith
