Friend,
Years ago, when a male legislator told me that I couldn't make a difference because I was "just a mom in tennis shoes," I didn't let that stop me. I fought hard for my community and went on to serve as the first woman – and first mom – to represent Washington state in the U.S. Senate.
Ever since, I've been working to pass legislation that gives working families some breathing room and helps strengthen our economy – from lowering health care and child care costs to creating good-paying jobs.
But the facts are clear: We still have so much work ahead of us, and if we want to keep up our progress, we have to protect our Senate majority. That's why Republicans are doing – and spending – everything they can to retake control, and now Mitch McConnell and the GOP are targeting our race.
We can't lose a single seat this November, friend. So I'm asking you directly: Will you chip in $5 or more right now – split between my campaign and Jacky Rosen's – to keep my seat and the Senate blue?
There's too much at stake to let Republicans take back the Senate: Child care. Health care. The climate crisis. Reproductive rights. The GOP's agenda is just all wrong for working families.
My opponent, Tiffany Smiley, is in lockstep with McConnell and his extreme allies – and she even told him that it would be "great to have Washington state be the seat that flips the Senate in November." The Senate doesn't need another red-stamp Republican standing with McConnell – but I can't defend my seat and go up against the GOP's millions without your help.
So please, friend, will you give $5 or more before our midnight fundraising deadline – split between my campaign and Jacky Rosen's – to keep Washington blue, defend our Senate majority, and continue fighting for working families across this country?
Thank you,
Patty Murray
