Last night, voters in Kansas, a deep red state, overwhelmingly
rejected an amendment to remove the right to abortion from their State Constitution.
By a margin of almost 20 points, Kansas voters sent a clear message to the nation that politicians don’t make decisions about our bodies and futures — we do. And this result proves what we already knew – the majority of people in the United States did NOT want Roe v. Wade to be overturned.
This November, reproductive rights are on the ballot nationwide. The fight to protect our freedom is now up to all of us. And Kansas just proved that if we organize, mobilize, and keep fighting, we can win.
Ruth’s List is committed to electing Democratic pro-choice women across Florida who will protect the right to abortion and fight attacks on our freedoms. Last night’s result proves that we too can reject extreme messaging from the right and preserve our reproductive freedom.
