I'm reaching out to you today because we're in the final hours of our campaign's push to build as much grassroots-funded campaign power before our pre-primary filing deadline tonight at 11:59 PM.
This time in the last election cycle, we saw a boost of fundraising power that we never saw before. It's so crucial that we don't slow down our momentum now because we won't know how close this election will be until it's too late.
How many times have we seen dedicated and qualified progressive voices lose their elections by a hair-thin margin? In times like these, we cannot afford to lose leaders like Jamaal — not when so much is on the line for our democracy.
Now more than ever, we need leaders who are unapologetic in the fight for climate action, Medicare for All, paid family leave, increased federal funding for our public schools and youth programs, and so much more.
But conservative Democrats would rather funnel our money into institutions that actively discriminate and disenfranchise our communities, right in front of our faces. In races across the country, they're finding success in beating back progressive change.
Enough is enough, John. No more profits-over-people politics. No more stagnant leadership. We have the chance to ensure that our progressive movement continues to grow, but only if we step up to the challenge and use our grassroots power to push us to victory.
