Despite major obstacles thrown their way, Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush won their primaries.
We’ll start with the good news.
Despite major spending by dark money groups, Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush won their primaries last night.
They won despite major obstacles thrown their way. A new special interest group spent nearly $700,000 backing Rashida’s opponent,1 while Cori faced Republican dark money groups who spent tens of thousands of dollars in radio ads in the final weeks before the primary.2
These victories mark a huge win for our movement in an election year that has seen progressives embattled by outside spending and little support — and sometimes outright opposition — by the party establishment.
And they were only possible because of people like you who chipped in so that their teams had the resources to talk one-on-one to voters, run ads, print lawn signs, send voter-contact texts, and so much more.
We must be prepared to fend off these dark money attacks and ensure that we send progressive incumbents like Alexandria back to Congress in November. If you’re able to, can you chip in whatever you can right now to help us prepare for November?

These coordinated attacks on our campaigns are only growing. We don’t take money from corporate PACs or special interests. Instead we rely on grassroots, small-dollar donations from emails like this.
Any support, even $5 or $10 goes a long way.
Thank you for your support and congratulations again to Cori and Rashida on their much-deserved wins.
In solidarity,
Team AOC
