Thank you!

Together, thousands of grassroots supporters turned out to vote, volunteer, and donate to our re-election campaign. And, thanks to you, we won our Democratic primary in Michigan’s 12th congressional district!

We were up against $1 million in outside spending by billionaire-funded Super PACs. They tried to silence us in order to maintain an unjust status quo that puts Big Money and corporate greed ahead of everyday people and our democracy.  

But we have the power to fight back! Together, we outworked the hate, connecting with residents and growing our grassroots movement for meaningful changes. People in our district showed the billionaires trying to influence our vote that we can’t be bought.

Below are some highlights from the past week on the campaign trail.

Here’s some of our campaign team, getting ready to head out and speak with voters:

Senator Bernie Sanders came to Michigan to support me and my colleague Andy Levin against billionaire attacks:

The Squad (my sisters in service: AOC, Ilhan and Ayanna) all came to Michigan to rally supporters and knock on doors with our amazing volunteers:

And, of course people came out to VOTE—including some first-time voters—and to volunteer to help ensure everyone could exercise their right to vote:

My Yama (my mom) also voted for me. She’s been a voter for over 35 years, but she requested the newly available Arabic ballot for our communities and this was the first time I was on her ballot due to redistricting:
