After repeatedly watching the Senate fail to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act or landmark voting rights legislation, I have just three words for you:
I hope you’ll forgive the language, friend – but I’m frustrated that the Senate isn’t doing its job and that hardworking families are shouldering the burden.
No matter how you square it, the answer is the same: If we want to protect abortion access, bring down the costs of prescription drugs, pass voting rights legislation and increase wages, we have to get rid of the filibuster.
But to finally do away with the filibuster, we need to expand our Democratic Senate majority. Our race here in Ohio is literally as close as can be, which means it’s our best chance to flip a seat and secure one more critical vote.
