The Department of Education has proposed a new Title IX rule that demands that colleges treat students in line with their gender identity, not their biological sex. Merriam-Webster has long defined a 'woman' as an “adult female person.” This definition is accurate, but it begs the question: what exactly is a 'female'? Now, the dictionary is facing renewed criticism for adding an additional definition of 'female' to its website: “having a gender identity that is the opposite of male.” By redefining 'female,' Merriam-Webster denies any connection between sex and biology. The Biden administration’s student loan repayment moratorium, and potential plans to cancel student loan debt, are inflationary.
